I have been loving that my clients have been picking colors for their session this fall! Maggie’s session is shades of purple/lavender with a bit of berry. We were also supposed to have a bit of a lite cream portion, but Maggie had other ideas. I always go into each session with grand plans and several ideas, but reality is that we don’t always get to everything. Although Maggie was a light sleeper (which has been a common theme here these days!), I just love how her session came together! I also love how adorable Maggie is! She has the CUTEST hair that stuck up in a little wave in the back. She gave me a few cute grins and had the sweetest expressions.
The newborns in the studio this fall have been a bit more challenging than normal. I have been joking that we have been in some sort of moon phase that has been causing babies to not want to sleep! Evelyn was a much needed great little sleeper who posed beautifully. She was born a couple weeks early and was such an adorable little peanut. I love her fine blonde fuzz and pretty lips! Her momma loves fall and fall colors…no pastels or pink here! This is a rare request for baby girls and I was happy to oblige! I love all the rich tones in her session. I also love the generational image that includes Baby, Momma, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
As a newborn photographer, the nerves are always kicked up a notch when you are shooting another newborn photographer’s baby. I first met Heather (of Heather Passmore Photography) when she shot my own family last fall. I was so excited when she shared her big news with me and chose me to be her newborn photographer! Wouldn’t you know it, Colin was born with what we in the industry jokingly call “Photographer’s Child Syndrome”. In other words, children of photographers that hate to have their portraits taken. As adorable as little Colin is, he was not a fan of posing for the camera! His session goes on record as my longest and we worked so hard, but he more than makes up for it in cuteness. This little guy stole my heart and I really enjoyed my time with him and his parents.
I first met Evelyn for her 6 month sitter session. She was so sweet and loaded with personality. Now she is one and came to see me for her cake smash session! She still has her adorable personality, but also not afraid to let me know how she felt during some moments of the session. No matter what her mood was, she was always adorable. Her mommy brought the prettiest outfits and she especially enjoyed being in a bucket with balloons . She also had a lot of fun with her cake!
Michael came to see me for his Heirloom Newborn Session. I have noticed a trend this year where the boys have been a bit more resistant to posing for their newborn sessions than the girls have. Well, true to form, Michael was not a huge fan of poses and pictures! We worked very long and hard for his session, but I think that hard work paid off. Even though he challenged me, I love so many of his images.
