It is always an honor (and admittedly a bit nerve wracking!) when another photographer chooses you to be their newborn photographer! Beth is the talent behind Sunbeam Photography. She specializes in newborns, babies and kids and I especially love her Fresh 48 sessions! I met her on a local Facebook group for local female photographers and got to meet her in person when she came out to my studio to assist me with a newborn session. One fun thing about working with another newborn photographer is that Beth let me know that she loves vintage quilts (a true newborn photographer’s favorite prop!). So, I built Naomi’s session around my favorite quilt piece which is a white/cream base with various colors. All of Naomi’s session is styled in cream with splashes of pastel color. Of course I have to brag on Naomi who rocked her session! She slept pretty much the whole time, which I am sure made her mommy proud!! She is also so pretty and gave me a few adorable grins! Beth later told me that coming out to my studio for Naomi’s session was a bit like Disneyland. I will gladly take that compliment!
I first met the R Family just shy of 3 years ago when Jaya was a newborn. Her session was interesting because it was in the time that I was between studio spaces and was my last session before moving into my current space! I got to see Jaya again last fall for her Holiday Mini where she announced she was becoming a big sister! Now, they are back with the newest addition to the family! Maxton is one adorable little guy! I was completely taken with him and obsessed with his amazing lashes!
Vivian was one of those babies that you take a look at then thank your photographer luck stars. She checked off all the features us newborn photographers love. Head of hair, pretty lips and lashes, loads of squish, and cheeks for days. She was also a dream to work with! She slept almost the whole session and went into posed perfectly. Her mommy picked out purple shades with cream and gray, which was a great choice for Vivian. I just love purple/lavender on dark haired baby girls!
Adorable little Ava came up to the studio for her 6 month milestone session. I met her way back when she was just a tiny newborn earlier this year. She was a feisty little newborn and now she is loaded with personality! She definitely had her opinions about what we were going to do during her session. Ava wasn’t quite ready to sit, so we got lots of images of her on her tummy and back! One pose we worked so hard for her to do was the “grab the toes” pose. She just wasn’t going to grab her feet no matter what we did. BUT, she compromised a little and we still got some really cute shots!
I got to meet Brooklynn a couple weeks ago when she came up to my studio for her Heirloom Newborn Session. She did such a great job posing for her session and she slept almost the whole time! About 1/2 way through she woke up to eat, then fell right back into sleep. She has the prettiest features and I just love that her mom wanted to use earthy neutrals for her colors! Her parents are very sweet and very smitten with their new baby girl. This whole family was a pleasure to work with!
