Addison’s Last day of Preschool | St Clair Shores, Michigan Child Photographer

I just realized how long it’s been since I’ve posted any pictures of my own children.  Yes, believe it or not, I do have kids!  You would just never know it by how little I’ve shared pics of them in recent months.  I admit that I’ve been so caught up on my own business to even take photos of my own kids.  I do have some quick snaps that I took from my phone, but we all know that phone quality pics aren’t the best quality. So, I decided to bring my camera with me to Addie’s last day of school.

My Addie Joy is growing up!  Yesterday was her last day of three year old preschool.  It was a great year and she became quite attached to her teachers.  On the last day, the teachers have the kids do a little performance for the parents and other family members.  It’s very low key, but quite cute!  Some kids really get into it, while others just stand there and let the others do the singing.  When my son, Aidan, was in this class, he was one of the kids who would just stand there.  I was happy to see that Addison participated very nicely!

Pledge of Allegiance

After the performance,  I took her out behind the Church for a little mini shoot. Luckily, we had time between rain storms!  She only allowed me to take pictures if she could hold her bubbles.  Sure, whatever works!

I thought it would be fun to compare side by side a photo from her first day and one from her last day of three year old preschool.

Aside from the obvious like how long her hair has gotten, I definitely see that her face has matured since September.

Wow! When did she get so big?! These are great pics! Tomorrow is P & T’s last day and I am looking forward to getting some pics, as well.

Trinity, a family that is complete | Howell Michigan Newborn Photographer

This little beauty is the last of my little newborn girl baby boom.  I absolutely LOVED working with these precious little babies.  I always tell my clients this, but I just love working with newborns so much.   I feel like babies in general are my calling, but there is something magical about a newborn fresh in his or her first days of life.  This stage passes parents by so quickly, it gives me such pleasure to capture those precious moments.

Now this baby is just a little extra special to me.  She is the daughter of one of my old friend Shannon.  Shannon and I  used to hang out back in our early/mid twenties and have had some crazy fun together running around Ann Arbor.  As I’ve become a wife and mother in more recent years, Shannon and I have lost touch.  So it was as if fate stepped in when I was at another newborn session and Shannon’s mother was there as a guest!  Neither of us realized we were connected by Shannon at the time, but it all came together after the session.  So needless to say, this lead to the opportunity to work with Shannon’s beautiful baby girl and also allowed me to reconnect with an old friend.

So without further ado, meet the absolutely beautiful Trinity!

She has the most amazing full head of dark hair, beautiful skin , and naturally red lips.  She totally reminds me of a baby Snow  White.

Shannon, you look absolutely beautiful here!  Motherhood suits you well!

This one is an instant favorite.  Trinity’s dad is The DJ Guy.  If you or a friend/family member is looking for a DJ for a special event, this is your guy!  He’s a winner of The Knots Best of Weddings and also nominated for Detroit’s Vote for the Best.  And I can personally say he’s a very cool guy.  So, when he asked if we could incorporate his headphones, I was like  “heck yeah!” .   Her expression here is just so perfect for this shot.  She almost looks as though she is dancing and feeling the music!

Congratulations Shannon and Ed!  Trinity is just perfect!  I hope that we will be seeing each other again very soon!!!!

Grand Opening of Jennifer Hosking Photography | Metro Detroit Newborn, Baby and Child photographer

The time has finally come!  I’m an official business!!!  This has been a crazy yet awesome journey and I’m so excited!  First I want to thank all of the wonderful people I met in the last  8 months who let me hone my skills and helped me build my portfolio.  I met so many wonderful families!!!!!!  I also need to give a HUGE thank you to my wonderful husband, Jim and my children, Aidan and Addison.  They have been a bit neglected and have put up with my stressed out self.  I wouldn’t be here without their support.  I also want to acknowledge my Father in Law, Cliff Hosking.  He gave me his old Olympus E-500, when he upgraded his own camera.  Without the gift of that camera, I don’t think I would be here today.  That camera gave me the hunger to learn and perfect my photography.

Happy Avery | Canton Michigan Newborn Photographer

It was a busy weekend for me!  I also got the opportunity to meet another adorable newborn named Avery!  I just love her name since it reminds me of  “To Kill a Mockingbird”, which was one of my favorite books I read as a kid. This little lady isn’t as ornery as I remember Mr Avery to be in the book.  In fact, this little gal was quite the opposite, such a little sweetie who gave me some of the best expressions I’ve gotten from a newborn so far!  She kept giving those adorable baby smiles while she was asleep.  Oh how I live for those!!!!!

This is precisely why I adore newborns!!!!

This is one of my personal favorites.  So feminine!

She was expressive while awake too!   I love it!
